Le Dîner en Blanc - Vilnius celebrates its 5th edition on August 31 and on this occasion, we submitted our questionnaire "editions 5/5 questions" to the organizers Dovile Butkiene and Valda Lukosiute. To put you in the party, we share the love story between Vilnius and Le Dîner en Blanc.
Le Dîner en Blanc of Paris celebrated this year its 30th anniversary and its reputation has shone in Europe for quite some time. Dovile fell in love with the concept before it became known to the world. As soon as she learned that Dîner en Blanc International was developing this unique event around the world, she decided to import it to Vilnius! While searching through her contacts, Dovile found the ideal collaborators devoted to the same love for French culture and the challenge represented by the organization of Le Dîner en Blanc.
In the first two years, Dovile and Valda were accompanied by Giedre Sileikyte. This is how the team of shock was formed and was at the origin of the success of the tradition that is Le Dîner en Blanc in the city of Vilnius.In their eyes, Le Dîner en Blanc is unique and unforgettable. It is always difficult to put words on the emotions felt, and those provided by Le Dîner en Blanc are found nowhere else in the world of events. This magic combines perfectly with the Vilnius universe. An old city full of charm and an event as elegant as Le Dîner en Blanc marry perfectly! A warm atmosphere, joie de vivre, good organization, are the key points that make the success of this chic picnic and have brought tradition into the hearts of the inhabitants.
As the years went by, the organizers had the opportunity to create many memories. For Dovile, the moment of the towels during the first edition is one of those special moments that gives you a unique emotion. Valda was also touched by their first edition and especially by the vision of hundreds of people gathered, all dressed in white but also by the warm and friendly atmosphere of the event.

Since this first edition, Le Dîner en Blanc - Vilnius has come a long way and has become a real tradition for the residents of the city. Lithuania is a small country and the organizers do not focus on the number of guests but on the quality of the event. Just like Le Dîner en Blanc of Paris, they want to preserve this notion of friendship, passion, joy of life and community.When asked what city they would like to participate in Le Dîner en Blanc, Dovile and Valda have the best of the answers: participate in the largest number of Dîner en Blanc in the world!
